PE - Physical Education

Overview

At Witley we follow the Get Set 4 PE Curriculum

In PE, the children learn to master basic movements including running, jumping, throwing and catching, as well as developing balance, agility and co-ordination, individually and with others. The children become increasingly skilled and confident when applying these skills in a range of Gymnastics, Dance, Games and Athletics activities. They participate in team games and take part in competitive and co-operative activities. The children are also taught how to lead healthy, active lives.

The children have opportunities to experience different sports led by experts, for example, the Year 2 children have tennis coaching in the summer term from a local qualified tennis coach. Children across the school have taken part in Dance/Fitness lessons. In the summer term, all our children take part in our Sports Day which is a mixture of competitive races and group sporting experiences.
