Art week was a great success with the children learning lots about the Reubens painting, ‘A Roman Triumph’ which was a painting based on a procession in Rome after Julius Caesar had won a battle. Each class took their learning in their own direction producing a variety of work based on what they could see in the picture. Some explored the details in different parts of the painting, others thought about Roman architecture and some focused on the range of colours they could see. The main aim however, has been to create a whole school piece of art so each class has made a mosaic depicting one of the animals in the painting. These will be put up near the front of school, once they are grouted. Thank you so much to the teachers for all their enthusiasm and effort to make the week special.
